This mom found out about CIA through Celebrate Recovery at Center Pointe Christian Church. She reached out to us right before Thanksgiving.
Her situation is unique but not so uncommon, she and her husband were separated and he was in a rehab facility when we came for our initial visit. They also have two young kids that live at the house.
The house needed love as soon as we stepped in. Her husband had demoed a load bearing wall on the main floor and hadn’t supported it properly, there was no functional electric on the 2nd floor of the home where the bedrooms and only bathroom were located, and the heating wasn’t working properly on the 2nd floor. The bathroom was barely functional. Most of the walls were exposed to studs and the shower walls didn’t exist on either end.
Our initial visit with volunteers was to reframe the load bearing wall, restore electric to the second floor and repair HVAC air flow to the bedrooms upstairs.
We knew that we would have to raise support to tackle the bathroom remodel, which we are happy to say that financial donation has come through. We are trying to schedule this work with her in the near future! Right before Christmas 2024 we were able to repair her brakes on her only vehicle which were in rough shape at the time. God has blessed us to serve this family during a rough spell in life.
Our volunteers were able to give this mom and her kids gifts during the holiday as well. This story isn’t over, we are eager to see how God will provide as we continue this journey.
